As expected, my 4th of July was fun. Here's a few photos of what I was up to yesterday:
This is my favorite firework, the Friendship Pagoda! On the left, this is one before it was lit. It was kind of squished, but worked ok. On the right, the Friendship Pagoda box. This guy looks like his pagoda was a little too friendly... kinda creepy.
This one looked particularly dangerous (or at least bomb-like). The name: "Star Ball Contribution". I love this box. Though I'd have to say that in action, the Star Ball Contribution is less science fiction-y than the illustration. But, it did make some sounds reminiscent of Forbidden Planet.
There was also lots of eating going on. My mom made this tomato tart. It was as delicious as it was beautiful. As you can see, we had the table all ready for chowing down! (Patriotically, of course.)
